Traveling South

We are now in Bariloche in Patagonia 1h 40min flight south of Mendoza. The last couple of days we have been exploring and walking around Bariloche.

We flew in from Mendoza on Thursday and it was quite an enjoyable flight. We could see the Andes out the window because we were all on the right-hand side of the plane. I enjoyed seeing Mendoza from the air because I could understand what I was looking at. For example, I saw the lake that we had swam in. The lake is fed by El Rio Mendoza which contains snow melt from Aconcagua and the surrounding mountains.

Bariloche is a bit of a tourist town in Patagonia. We are not travellers who like to go to touristic destinations, but I think that Bariloche is worthwhile going to. There are these cool markets in town which I thought were fun to wonder through and look at all the little stalls. The main street is full-on but there are always quiet gems if you look for them.

My mum and I have been waking up for the sunrise. It’s a magical time of the day because most people are still sleeping and the places that are bustling during the day are quiet. I took some stunning photos of the city at this time of the morning.

We are going to go on some outings this week in the mountains and we are going to hire a car. We are going to be in Bariloche for about two weeks and then we fly back to Buenos Aires but that’s not where our adventures in Argentina stop. Stay tuned to find out…. In the next couple of weeks.
