¿Que es a Guanaco?

What is a Guanaco?

This Blog discusses the differences between a Llama, Alpaca, Vicuña, and a Guanaco.

You may not have heard of a Guanaco or a Vicuña before. Well, I didn’t before we came to South America. There are more Guanacos in Argentina than Vicuñas. 80 to 90% of all Guanacos live in Argentina.

Keep in mind this is all my research but they are not my photos.

I decided to research Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, and Guanacos because since I’m in Argentina I’ve seen quite a lot of stuff on Guanacos, and I never really knew the difference between Llamas and Alpacas. I thought there may be two different names for the same animal. I also had no clue that Vicuñas even existed let alone know what species they were.

I hope after reading this you think that Llamas, Alpacas, Vicuñas, and Guanacos are pretty cool. Hopefully, you can tell the difference between them.
