One month away from embarking on the world trip
We are officially one month away from embarking on our world trip. You might be wondering what we have planned, what we haven’t, and what stuff has to get done before we leave. I feel like it’s starting to feel real that we are going to leave very soon but I feel like it feels more real to the adults. I think Sabine (mum) and David (Stepdad) are starting to get a little stressed because they have so much to do before we leave like pack up our whole house find a storage unit, flights, money, what will happen with their Jobs, what we are taking and what we won’t.
Although on the other hand, it also feels like we are all just waiting around till we leave.
We have also started going to Spanish classes because we don’t know any Spanish we can say hi and bye but that’s about it and we are going to be in Spanish-speaking countries for around 6 months. My mum, my brother and I can speak Dutch as our second language, so it is interesting seeing the slight similarities like car is Auto in Dutch and Spanish. It’s also interesting learning another language. After all, I don’t remember learning Dutch because I learned Dutch and English at the same time.
We have planned to fly from Sydney to Santiago, Chile for about 5 days and then fly to Buenos Aires, Argentina. We are planning to be in Argentina for about 2 months. Then we fly back to Santiago and stay in Chile for about 2 months. We fly from Santiago to Miami to San José, Costa Rica, and stay there for 2 months. Something exciting is that I will turn 18 in Costa Rica. After 2 months in Costa Rica we fly to Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe we will stay there for 2 months and that will mark the beginning of our French-speaking adventures. Then we fly to Paris, France, and travel through Europe for another 2 months and then we fly from Paris to Tokyo, Japan. We will stay in Japan for around a month and from there, we fly home. We will be gone for about 13 months because we are leaving on the 18 of Dec 2024 and we arrive back home around mid-January 2026.
